THE 4 PROGRAM COMPONENTS
MENTAL
Mental training focuses on how a player performs in mentally challenging situations and relates to their will/motivation to reach goals or objectives. Learning to overcome obstacles will build strength and character and not being afraid to step outside the comfort zone.
PHYSICAL
Physical training prepares the player to perform maximally to their ability. It builds strength, power, endurance, agility, stability and mobility. Physical is connected to the Mental aspect of the game. The fitter you become, the more you are able to push mentally through challenges and vice versa.
TECHNICAL
Technical training involves developing the correct biomechanics for all strokes in tennis. Having the correct technique will help a player to be more sufficient, have more power and endurance while preventing injury from dysfunctional movements.
TACTICAL
Tactical training puts the technical tools to work. Learning strategies and reacting to certain situations during a match will allow a player to problem solve and find weaknesses in their opponent.
